It is here that he says, \"Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not overcome it\" (Matthew 16:18). \nWe are familiar with how many scholars and theologians have interpreted this statement and its meaning. However, what if you knew that Caesarea Philippi is located at the foot of Mount Hermon, which is a giant \"rock\"? And what if you also knew that at the base of this mountain there is a cavern that was believed was an entrance to the underworld referred to as, \"The Gates of Hell\"?
